control sweet food during fasting


During fasting, we are recommended to eat sweet foods and drinks first. This is because, it can provide immediate energy to the body after not taking any energy source for a long time.

The process of the body's function, namely metabolism, will slow down during fasting. This is due to the fact that many of the energy sources obtained from the food taken during suhoor are lost after performing daily activities.

So, you need to break the fast with sweet food or drink because it plays a role in restoring the energy and stamina of the body that is lost quickly.

This increase in sugar levels helps return the body's metabolic function to normal and facilitates the digestion process.

However, this is not a reason for you to eat all the sweet foods that exist on the face of the earth when it's time to break the fast.

Consuming too much sugar can put you at greater risk of several health problems. Among them, obesity, risk of heart disease, second stage diabetes, risk of cancer and many more.

So, we still need to control the consumption of sweet foods and drinks during fasting.


Try this way:

1. Try to have a source of fiber every time you break the fast. Vegetables, fruits or complex carb sources.

2. The function of fiber is to slow down the reaction of sugar in the blood. Help to control cravings for sweets after eating.

3. Gargling can help in getting rid of the 'craving' to look for sweets. When the aftertaste of the food is not there, the sweet tooth is less accompanied.

4. Toothbrush also helps. The mint flavor of toothpaste will usually suppress the appetite for desserts, sweet foods and so on.

5. Eat the main menu to break the fast slowly. From the first bite, our body will take about 15 minutes to feel full.

6. When the feeling of fullness appears in our brain, the desire to eat sweets will also decrease. So, wait a minute!

7. Drink plenty of plain water. It is very effective in reducing the appetite for sweets.

8. Always self talk to yourself to lose weight. After eating, always remind yourself to be satisfied with what you have.

9. Remind yourself that every sweet food is high in calories and simple sugar makes it harder for us to control our appetite.

10. If you really want it, take it in moderation. Like, a glass of sweet water, a small piece of cake, two cookies and so on.
